Take Off Your Shoes and Dance Like La Chunga

Join The Flame Foundation & Flamenco DNA July 6-8 for more Flamenco dancing with Maestro Antonio Arrebola and Delilah Buitron Arrebola in an inspiring, fun, three-day summer workshop of Barefoot Flamenco.
We encourage everyone who has ever wanted to try flamenco, loves flamenco, already dances flamenco, and dancers of other genres to join us! So kick off your flip flops, sneakers or your flamenco/dancing shoes and come dance bulerías and tangos!

Time is passing, our kids are growing and they are starting to complain that their shoes do not fit them anymore, while some adults stress about not having an adequate floor to dance on and newbies cannot purchase flamenco shoes at the moment, because they cant go try them on. So Antonio and Delilah said let’s address this shoe and floor issue head on and do this barefoot, Flamenco a la Chunga!!! An expression flamencos use, referring in homage to the amazing iconic flamenco muse dancer, La Chunga, who would dance barefoot. *La Chunga featured above in photo.

Barefoot Flamenco is not a type of technique, it's actually how flamenco was danced many moons ago, and a choice a dancer makes. All the traditional Flamenco dance vocabulary will be used during this workshop, except for the heavy-duty or intricate footwork.

We are lovers of the art and will continue to dance flamenco as long as we can move. Sign up here.

Recent testimony:
"I loved this class! First of all, I had forgotten how funny Antonio is. Second, the instruction was lively, clear, and easy (relatively, ha ha) to follow."
